What to Know About Balıkesir
Balıkesir is one of the 6 provinces in Turkey that is adjacent to both seas. It is liked by a large number of people with its shores to both the Marmara and the Aegean Seas, and it is constantly desired to be visited. Balıkesir is also a neighbor to the Ayvalık district of Greece and the Lesbos Islands, and it is a very rich touristic city in terms of this feature.
There are many mounds, caves and flat settlements in this province, which was formerly called Karesi. Balıkesir, which had the chance to have many historical artifacts with the Karesi principality, which was established after the end of the Anatolian Seljuk state, later joined the Ottoman lands.
