The settlement history of Sinop province dates back to the Bronze Age. Sinop province was one of the most important provinces of the Black Sea in ancient times. Sinop province, which came under the rule of the Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks and most recently the Ottoman state, has therefore been the cradle of many civilizations.
If we were to shed light on what happened to the province of Sinop after it was conquered by the Turks, this province, which was first in the Pervaneogullari, later passed to the Candarogullari. The Candarogullari principality, on the other hand, declared its loyalty to the Ottoman state after a certain period of time. With this loyalty, it passed to the Ottoman state indirectly.
The reason why this province is important in the Ottoman state is that it is used as a port city. This port city became the shipyard of the magnificent Ottoman Empire and gave great strength to its navy.
