Samsun Province is an old settlement area in terms of human history. Especially in the center, the Kızılırmak valley and the Çarşamba plain have been inhabited by people since ancient times and these regions have continued their lives.
In the region called Tekkeköy, which belongs to the Middle Stone Age (10000-5000 BC), there is evidence that people lived in the shelters and that the area was an ancient settlement. In addition, it has been understood as a result of archaeological excavations that people in the Samsun region lived a settled life by creating permanent settlement in the Polished and Copper Ages.
