What to Know About Tunceli
It is a city located in the Eastern Anatolian Region of Turkey. Surrounded by the Bingöl Mountains, Peri Suyu and Keban Dam Lake, the city has hosted many civilizations throughout history, as in other cities of Anatolia. Pertek Castle and Munzur Valley National Park, which have survived from the Middle Ages and have been preserved until today, are among the natural beauties of Tunceli.
The continental climate prevails in the city. Summers are hot and dry, and winters are cold and rainy. The population of the province is approximately 100 thousand. It is the least populated province of Turkey. Zazaki, Kurmanji and Turkish languages are spoken in the city.
The people of Tunceli generally make a living from agriculture and animal husbandry. Industrialization has not developed much in the city. In addition, fishing and beekeeping are other sources of income in the city. Small cattle breeding takes the first place in Tunceli's economy. Cattle breeding is mostly done as a family business.
