It is thought that the old name of the province of Niğde, which dates back to ancient times, was Nakita or Nahita. According to another rumor, it is said that the oldest name is Anahita.
It is also said that the name Anahita is the name of a deity and its meaning represents fertility. As a result of archaeological excavations and researches, it is seen that the city of Niğde has a history of approximately 10,000 years.
