Ntcheu is one of the 28 counties of the African country Malawi. Ntcheu is located within the Central region, one of the three regions of the country. The central city of the county is the city of Ntcheu, which has the same name as the general of the county. Mangochi district and Balaka district are located in the east of the district, while Dedza district in the north, Mwanza district in the south, and Mozambique state in the west.
Most of the occupants of the Ntcheu District are of the Ngoni people, and are therefore descendants of Swaziland's Swazi people and the Zulu of South Africa. Also, because of their location, they are connected to the Ngoni People of the Mzimba District located in the northern part of Malawi. The paramount Chief is Inkosi Yamakosi Gomani.
